The rant

Everything here comes straight from the heart. No sugar-coating, no filters—just raw emotion, spontaneous thoughts, and honest opinions on life, mental health, and everything in between. If these words resonate or help along the way, that is a bonus.

About us

All about The Rant!

Hi, I’m Jess. I’m 29 years old and I have suffered for the past 17 years with mental health. It’s not easy when you’re 12/13 years old and being told you have deep depression and severe anxiety and not only that, being told it is a faze and it will pass. After lots of trials of medication, therapy, mindfulness and what have you I am yet again on another journey to trial my last option of medication. It’s either not worked or I’m allergic… Typical right. At 29 years old I am still struggling with mental health and have now been diagnosed with PTSD and EUPD on top of my depression and anxiety disorder after being ok for about a year. Now I say ok because I can’t say it’s always been easy.

Now you know a little about the back story about me, let’s talk about why I’ve decided to create The Rant!

This is not a place to bully or out people. This is not a place for anything specific, this is solely a safe place for myself and others to share their story they want to be heard, their struggles and their wins. We as humans have creative minds whether we think we do or don’t. We find our own techniques and coping mechanisms, we make humour from our traumas, we have accomplished things we never thought we would all because we didn’t get the help we deserved and decided that someone else did. We take, we give, we love, we lose, we thrive and we fall, but with each thing we do comes a story, a piece of art, a craft or hobby. We find the little things can make us happy and I believe they should be shared and not hidden away. I want people to hear people and the raw stories behind struggle, no filters, no naming, just helping other be aware that there is a community that cares even when you don’t feel like there is no hope.

You can be completely anonymous if you want me to share your story. I will share many of mine with you all and the inbox is always open if you just need someone to talk things out with or ‘rant’ with first hand experience. My age may seem young to some but by 14 years old I was told I have gone through what a 37 years old would have and from then on it got worse until September 2025.

Join The Rant and lets see what kind of community we can build.
